How a trade moves from origin to market
We handle a trade from the buyer's first requirement to discharge at the destination port, as one counterparty.
One team from the requirement to the port
Trade Solutions is the work of turning a buyer's requirement into a delivered cargo. A buyer tells us the commodity, the grade, the volume, the destination and the shipment window. We find an origin that can meet it, agree the contract, and run the shipment until the cargo is discharged.
In a physical trade that work is usually split between suppliers, agents, inspectors and forwarders. We hold it together, so the buyer deals with one company from the first enquiry to the last document.
Six steps on every trade
Whatever the commodity, each trade goes through the same six working steps.
- 01
Market intelligence
Reading supply, demand and freight for the commodity, so the requirement goes to origins that can meet it.
- 02
Origin auditing
Checking the supplier and the origin before contracting: capacity, cargo quality and paperwork.
- 03
Specification sign-off
Agreeing the specification in the contract and having an independent inspector confirm it before loading.
- 04
Documentary deployment
Putting letters of credit and other documentary instruments in place to protect supply and payment.
- 05
Logistics tracking
Following the cargo from the load port to discharge and keeping the buyer informed on the way.
- 06
Port dispatch
Releasing the cargo from the load port with its shipping documents, on the agreed trade terms.
What the buyer gets from it
- One counterparty from origin to the destination port, instead of separate suppliers, agents and forwarders
- Origins chosen for the grade, volume and shipment window you need, and checked before anything is signed
- A contract built around your requirement: quantity, specification, trade terms, schedule and payment instrument
- Cargo inspected against the contract before it leaves the origin
- News of the cargo between the load port and discharge, and the documents you need to receive it
